All great, world-historical facts and personages occur, as it were, twice […] the first time as tragedy, the second as farce.

A word from the cartoonist

Cartoons are a mirror
A blind man from Puiseaux once told Denis Diderot that a mirror is "a machine, which brings things into relief, provided they are properly positioned in relation to it. It's like my hand, which I must not place next to an object to feel it."
When drawn from the right distance, cartoons are, by design, a reflection of what can not only be seen, but also felt.
Feelings and their meanings, though sharp in effect, can be difficult to define. Sometimes, an action as simple as straining the eyes will render a fuzzy image crisper. The mission is to waddle around, squint, and dutifully draw the reflection.
WAADL is committed to comedy with credibility.
